Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-03-16
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website bankformats.com and the tools and services provided through it (collectively, the "Service") by BankFormats ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Scope of the Service
BankFormats provides browser-based tools for converting bank statement data into different formats (for example, PDF to Excel). Your files are securely processed on EU-based servers and automatically deleted after conversion.
2. Eligibility and user responsibilities
You may use the Service only if you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts under the laws applicable to you. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.
When using the Service, you agree that you will:
- use the Service only in accordance with these Terms and applicable law (including financial, privacy and export laws);
- not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent or infringing purposes;
- not attempt to interfere with or compromise the integrity or security of the Service;
- not reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to obtain the source code of the Service, except to the extent permitted by mandatory law.
3. No storage of bank statement data
Our tools are designed so that the contents of your bank statement files are processed locally in your browser. We do not receive, store or have access to the transaction data contained in those files as part of the conversion process. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service is consistent with any contractual or legal obligations you have towards your bank, customers or other third parties.
4. Accuracy and use of results
We aim to provide high-quality conversion tools, but we cannot guarantee that every conversion will be error-free or suitable for your specific purposes. The structure and content of bank statements can vary between banks and over time.
You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying the results of any conversion before relying on them or importing them into accounting or other systems. The Service does not constitute accounting, tax, legal or financial advice.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, user interface, underlying software and documentation, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights owned by us and, where applicable, our licensors. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own internal business or personal purposes.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, resell, rent, lease or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or any portion of it, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by mandatory law.
6. Availability and changes to the Service
The Service is provided on a credit-based model and "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may suspend, modify or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, for example for maintenance, security reasons or business needs. Where reasonably possible, we will endeavour to announce material changes in advance via the website.
7. Third-party services
The Service may integrate or interact with third-party services, such as hosting providers, content delivery networks, analytics or tag management tools. Your use of such third-party services may be subject to additional terms and privacy policies provided by those third parties. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not operate.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any express or implied warranties of any kind, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of dealing.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or under applicable product liability laws.
Subject to the foregoing, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business or loss of goodwill; and
- our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service and these Terms shall be limited to the amount of EUR 100 or, if higher, the minimum amount required by mandatory law.
10. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service in breach of these Terms or in violation of applicable law or the rights of third parties.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or to comply with legal requirements. The most recent version will always be available on this page and will indicate the date of the latest update.
If changes are material and you have an ongoing relationship with us (for example, through a registered account, if introduced in the future), we may notify you by appropriate means. By continuing to use the Service after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to be bound by them.
12. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of the European Union and the laws of the EU Member State in which BankFormats is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also enjoy the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction determined by applicable mandatory law.
13. Contact
If you have any questions about these Terms or the Service, you can contact us using the contact options provided on this website.
These Terms of Service are a general template intended to support compliance with European consumer and digital services law. You should review them and adapt them to your specific business, contractual arrangements and legal requirements.
